Hotheads: Atlantic Bowl VIII Champions

The Hotheads are the first team in the league to win a second Atlantic Bowl championship, and they are the first top-seed to win the championship, after defeating the Tide this week. The Tide, coincidentally, are the first team to lose a second league title matchup. Despite the Falcons defense posting negative points for the Hotheads, Kurt Warner, Steven Jackson, and Larry Fitzgerald combined to lead them to a 40-point victory and the title. The Tide, meanwhile, ran out of gas this week after posting 160+ points in two huge wins coming into the week. The Tide's Wes Welker posted only four points after having averaged nearly 20 over the three previous weeks, while Hines Ward's point total was half that of a week ago and the Vikings defense posted only a single point. Even with an optimum starting lineup, the Tide would have scored only 30 more points by starting Tony Scheffler and Bernard Berrian; thus, it was the Hotheads' day regardless of any alternative choices made by the Tide.
